They Came From The North... - Warriors of Chaos Barbarian Horde

Hail, Children of Technology!

Tis I, Redbrach, here to bring you another lot of Snapshots of Violence for the land of the young!

I started this army back in 2009 and i really havn't done alot with them, but since then there have been several different ways i have used them. Originally it was used with the Warriors of Chaos rules and contained several smaller units of Marauder Horsemen, a large unit of Chaos Knights and a unit of Chaos Warriors. After that they were used as a Beastmen army with a horde of Marauders as Gors and Minotaurs and Chaos Hounds but these rules were the thing that were making them fall short (expensive Gors compaired to Marauders, Centigors being unpredictable, Minotaurs needing to kill several small units to become powerful). I am now using them with the Warriors of Chaos rules again but have gone for an entirelly Marauder themed horde. I have set myself the goal of creating 2 units of 38 Marauders (I have 2 units of 20), a large 24 strong Marauder Horsemen unit (i have 14 at the minute), 30 Forsaken Berzerkers (will be made from Marauders with two axes, running poses and closed helmets), 28 Valkyrie themed sheild maiden style Chosen (the most extensive conversion work that i will do, made from Daemonettes and lots of greenstuff.) and some other stuff such as a Frost Giant style giant (which is in the process of having the paint removed and will be ready to be blue'd up soon)

For now, here's the first 20 Marauders with Great Weapons

Heres the Entire unit

Here are close ups of the Champion and Standard Bearer. The standard has Knot Work on it that was my first attempt at Free hand work. I have been told by a few people that it is very good but if you look closely, you'll see its not semetrical
Heres a close up of my favourite Marauder, The Butcher.

I shall update this log when i finish painting any more of these Barbaric men but until then, Keep your Blades enriched with Deeds of Violence!
